Who we are
This website is run by Kinnee Contracting, a renovation contractor and construction consultant based in Victoria, British Columbia. Questions about this policy go to kinneecontracting@gmail.com.
What we collect
- What you send us. When you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and whatever you include about your project, including any photos or documents.
- Consultation bookings. Paid consultations are booked and paid through Square. Square handles the payment details under its own privacy policy, and we never see your full card number.
- Site usage. Like most websites, we use analytics tools (Google Analytics and Jetpack/WordPress.com stats) to see which pages get visited. These use cookies and collect things like your approximate location, device and browser, and the pages you view.
- Spam protection. The contact form uses Google reCAPTCHA, which checks whether a visitor is a person. It is covered by Google’s privacy policy.
- Server logs. Our host keeps standard logs, such as IP address, browser type and time of visit, for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to you, quote or carry out your project, run your consultation, and keep the website working and secure. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for anything unrelated to why you gave it to us.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers that run the site and our business (web hosting, email, Square, Google and WordPress.com services), and sub-trades or suppliers when that is needed for your project. We will also share it if the law requires us to.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores. We use them for analytics and spam protection. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but some features, like the contact form’s spam check, may not.
How long we keep it
We keep project correspondence for as long as we need it for the work, warranty and our business records, then delete it. Analytics data is kept in aggregate by the analytics providers.
Your rights
Under Canadian and British Columbia privacy law, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our using it, subject to legal and record-keeping limits. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.

If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date below.
